Work with Missionaries

Grays Baptist Church is a missional church which takes seriously the Great Commission of Matthew 28:19 to go into all the world and preach the gospel.  As a result we have a history of supporting BMS Link missionaries out in the field. The BMS Missionaries we currently support are Paul and Sarah Brown, who are based in Thailand; and missionaries based in Spain who cannot be named due to the sensitivity of their work.

We support Rachel Chard of Friends International and Andrew Chard of Wycliffe Bible Translators, both of whom are former members of Grays Baptist Church and former BMS Link missionaries.

Along with the above, we also currently support Gareth Jones of London City Mission and we also prayerfully and financially support Tearfund in "following Jesus where the need is greatest."

    Paul & Sarah Brown – Thailand

    Paul and Sarah have recently moved to Chiang Mai, Thailand, where they hope to develop business as mission in their local context there. Before their move, they were working with NightLight International in Bangkok, which reaches out to women and children who have been trafficked or impacted by sex trafficking. NightLight provides for these women and children an economic alternative through teaching them how to make jewellery and bake cakes. Sarah completed her training at IMC in May 2011 in preparation for service in Thailand. During her training year Sarah met Paul and they were married in June 2011. They moved to Thailand in September 2012 when Paul had completed his training at IMC. Sarah formerly ran her own cake business and uses her creative and business skills to empower women. Paul, who formerly worked in accountancy, is helping with finance and administration, as well as mentoring young men. Their home churches are New Testament Church of God, Aylesbury, and Mile End New Testament Church, London.
